Buffalo Jump

One of the largest prehistoric Indian bison kill and campsites located in northern Montana. Discovered in the fall of 1961, the site has been kept in its natural state. Earliest use of the site began 2,000 years ago and continued intermittently until approximately 600 years ago.

Extensive archaeological materials accessible for public viewing are displayed in place at five locations throughout the site. Take a one-hour walking tour that provides an unequaled view of the area's prehistory.
