Buffalo Jump
One of the largest
prehistoric Indian bison kill and campsites located in northern
Montana. Discovered in the fall of 1961, the site has been kept
in its natural state. Earliest use of the site began 2,000 years
ago and continued intermittently until approximately 600 years
ago.
Extensive archaeological materials accessible for public viewing
are displayed in place at five locations throughout the site.
Take a one-hour walking tour that provides an unequaled view of
the area's prehistory.
