Art and Culture

There are options in the area of arts and entertainment.  The Montana Actors Theatre hosts a variety of theatre productions throughout the year.  Productions feature the local talent of the area.  Northern Showcase Concert Association host stage, concert and performing art shows throughout the year.  The high school theatre and music departments also provide the community with incredible productions during the school year.  Free during the summer is Sounds on the Square at the Town Square, offering local music entertainment in a more casual setting.

Local artists and craftsmen display and sell their work in local galleries.  A seasonal farmers market offers a touch of Americana.

With three to five main stage productions a year as well as several smaller productions, MAT offers a wide variety of entertainment to Northern Montana.  MAT is also highly involved with theatre education, offering children’s workshops and high school age production each year.

Montana Actor’s Theatre is dedicated to promoting an art form that stresses literature and theatre.  The emphasis of MAT is to select and perform scripts and adaptations of classic novels from a variety of sources, including new and emerging playwrights.

MAT has performed in London, UK with the original play “The Dead of Winter.” Montana Actor’s Theatre is the resident company of Montana State University-Northern.

This membership association brings first-rate entertainment to Havre consisting of music, dance and theatre.  These yearly series of events work to enhance cultural awareness.

Choral Fusion is a select mixed ensemble of adults whose repertoire is chosen from the finest sacred and secular choral music, which includes spirituals, jazz, show tunes, as well as new and contemporary music.  Their mission statement is:  "A community of singers, coming together to entertain, inspire, comfort and to make the world a better place!"  They rehearse once a week from September through May and present two concerts a year.  Auditions are required.

An active local group that hosts a fall art show showcase art done by area artists. Havre also has an art co-operative located in the Atrium Mall located in downtown Havre.
