HAVRE FESTIVAL DAYS

This annual event celebrates the completion of the area’s harvest.  The celebration is held the third weekend of September each year.

Friday, September 17th, kick’s off this year’s festivities for the 30th Celebration of Havre Festival Days.  Featured events of the weekend that start on Friday include the 48-Hour Softball Tournament, the Friends of the Library Book Sale, the Hi-Line Quilt Guild Show and the Craft Show at the Great Northern Fairgrounds.

The highlight of each year’s celebration is always the Parade, including a Pet and Doll section for the children.  The Parade gets underway at 10 a.m.  For the past four decades the Kiwanis Pancake breakfast has kicked off the Saturday events.

After the Parade the afternoon is filled with activities for kids and adults.  Downtown will be the location for the S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y. Market.  The Festival Days Craft Show continues at the Great Northern Fairgrounds starting at 11 a.m.

The Festival Run/Walk will take place on Sunday.  A 5K and 1-mile event will take place.  The soap box derby, sponsored by the Jaycees, will take place on Sunday.

Festival Days collector mugs will again be available at participating Chamber Member taverns and restaurants for $6.00.  Also, collector buttons are available for $1.00. The buttons depict 4 activities or groups that have been a key part of the 30 year history of Havre Festival Days.  The series includes: the parade, the South Alberta Pipe Band, the Havre High Marching Band and the Havre Kiwanis Club's Pancake Breakfast.
