WHAT IS LEADERSHIP HIGH SCHOOL ?

LEADERSHIP HIGH SCHOOL is a leadership/educational program designed for incoming  high school juniors to develop their leadership skills, and provide an opportunity to learn first hand about the importance of being involved in their community, how their community operates and an appreciation for what businesses, organizations and individuals, through volunteering contribute to Havre.

Leadership High School is a program of the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce and is endorsed by the Havre Public Schools. The Chamber's sponsorship and involvement in the program sends a message about our commitment to our  youth by providing them with a solid background in civics and increasing their knowledge about the many facets of life in Havre.  We have long believed that the best way to ensure a bright future for all of our citizens is to make an investment in our youth.  With help from our key sponsors and grant funds from PPL Montana, we have watched this program grow into the one of the most successful Youth Leadership Programs in the state.

Leadership High School offers opportunities to learn first hand about the importance of community involvement  and an appreciation for diversity within a community.  This program will help students  realize that “THEY ARE A PART OF A GREATER WHOLE” and gives them  an opportunity to learn about the issues and concerns facing their community and about how they can make a difference now and throughout their life.

Each year’s program starts with a retreat in October, followed by five monthly all day sessions including projects, community service and job shadowing.  The year concludes with a recognition lunch.  But, it doesn’t end here.  The students continue to be involved in school and the community.

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND?
